A journal "Dovkillia ta zdorovia" (Environment & Health) publishes the articles on the problems in the field of medical ecology, hygiene, health protection and ecological safety.

Attention to Authors!


    The journal "Environment & Health" publishes articles that contain new theoretical and experimental data, results of scientific research on the state of population health and the environment, identification of health risks for the population from the effects of environmental factors, living conditions, lifestyle, nutrition, and occupational factors, as well as their role in the formation of population morbidity, according to the following sections:

    1. Original research
    2. Ecological, natural, and anthropogenic factors and their health risks
    3. Environmental safety
    4. Issues of medical and sanitary regulation
    5. Environmental protection measures and health promotion
    6. Prevention of non-communicable diseases
    7. Hygiene of children and adolescents
    8. Health status: regional peculiarities, influencing factors, ways of improvement

    Manuscripts should be accompanied by the following documents:

    · An official letter from the institution from which the article originates (with the signature of the head and the seal) and an indication of whether the article is a dissertation. If the article comes from multiple institutions, a letter from each of them is required.
    · Expert conclusion regarding the absence of state secrets.
    · Bioethics committee opinion of the institution.
    · Agreement on the transfer of copyright (to be filled out individually by each author with an original signature). According to the agreement, the editorial board has the right to publish the submitted article in all formats (including printed and electronic versions), translate it, publish it on the publishing house's website, and present the article in databases of scientific journals, catalogs, and repositories.
    Information about the authors (last name, first name, patronymic, position, academic degree, academic rank, place of work) should be provided.

    The article should be submitted to the editorial office in both electronic and paper formats. The language of the article can be Ukrainian or English. Articles in English are given priority for publication. A paper format article must be signed by all authors and bear the supervisor's visa. The total length of scientific articles, including figures, tables, and the list of references, should not exceed 23,000 characters with spaces.

    Text file formats should be doc, docx, or rtf. Tables should be created in Microsoft Word.

    The text of the article should be in Times New Roman font, size 14, with single line spacing. Margins on all sides should be 2.5 cm (left, right, top, bottom). Pages should be numbered. Automatic hyphenation, footnotes, headers, and footers, etc., should not be used. Illustrative material should be grouped and placed in the text of the article in vertical orientation. To ensure proper reproduction, high-quality illustrative material should be sent along with the electronic version of the article in a separate jpg file. If previously published images are used in the article, permission must be obtained from their owner.

    Works that have been published in other publications should not be submitted to the editorial office.

    References to unpublished works, works for restricted use, dissertations, WHO working documents, and other organizations are not allowed.

    Works submitted to the editorial office will not be returned to the authors.

    All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism, duplication of publications, and reuse of text. Works are accepted for publication based on the results of editorial double-blind peer review.

    Receipt of the article will be confirmed by an email containing a registration number, which should be used in further correspondence with the editorial office in the email subject.

    General structure of the article:

    The title page should include:

    1. UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) of the article.
    The next block is presented in Ukrainian and English. Transliteration, if necessary, should follow the Ukrainian alphabet transliteration table approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 27, 2010, No. 55:

    2. Author's (authors') surname and initials.
    3. Article title (up to 10 words) reflecting its content.
    4. Full name of the institution where the author(s) work(s), institution's postal address, city, country. If co-authors work in different institutions, a numerical index is added next to each surname and respective institution.

    Contact information for authors:

    5. Email of each author for correspondence.
    6. Contact phone number (not for publication).
    7. Contribution of each author to the presented research (if there are co-authors) according to the CRediT taxonomy (https://credit.niso.org/): conceptualization, data curation, formal analysis, investigation, methodology, software, visualization, writing – original draft.
    8. ORCID identifier for each author.
    Abstract: The abstract is presented in Ukrainian and English and should contain no less than 150 and no more than 300 words. The abstract should be structured and reflect the main sections of the article: aim, materials and methods, results or review (for review articles), conclusions. Key words (3-5 words) should be provided, which should not repeat the article title.

    Main text of the article:

    4. Results or review and discussion (for review articles)
    5. Conclusions
    6. Information on research funding
    7. Information on conflicts of interest
    Research funding sources should be indicated, including funding from the budget (within the framework of budget research work, indicate the name and registration number of the research work), private funding (indicate the names of organizations or individuals that funded the research), self-funded, etc.

    Authors must indicate any existing or potential conflicts of interest regarding the submitted article or the absence of such conflicts.

    List of references:

    1. List of references according to DSTU 8302:2015 (Ukrainian standard for bibliographic references).
    2. References should be presented in the Roman alphabet (Latin) and formatted according to the Vancouver style (https://guides.lib.monash.edu/citing-referencing/vancouver).

        When available, include an electronic link to the source (URL, DOI)!
    Sources should be numbered and presented in the reference list in the order they are cited in the article. The number of sources should not exceed 10-12 for original articles and 40 for review articles. Sources (at least 70%) should have been published within the last 5 years, and 50% of them should be foreign sources.

    The authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of bibliographic references. The editorial board reserves the right to make stylistic and grammatical corrections without consulting the authors of the article. More substantial changes are subject to agreement with the authors, or the article is returned for further revision.
