ABSTRACT:
Objective: We analyzed the statistical data on the prevalence of salmonelloses among the child population of Ukraine under current conditions.
Material and methods: We analyzed the data on the statistical reporting of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine with regard to the infectious prevalence of salmonellosis over past years.

Results: In recent years, a decrease in the prevalence of salmonellosis has been observed in Ukraine. However, contaminated food, water, hydrobionts, equipment, people-bacteria carriers, etc. still remain the risk factors for the development of this pathology. There are no reliable means of the specific prevention of salmonellosis, which is associated with a significant variety of Salmonella representatives and the number of their serotypes increases annually.

Conclusions : Till today, the problem of salmonollosis in Ukraine remains unsolved and requires a significant correction in the epidemiological surveillance system for this pathology. Improvement of the registration of the cases of salmonollosis, as well as other diseases, is possible only in case of the correct processing of the various forms of primary records using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases.
