Objective. We evaluated from a hygienic point of view a fat content in the nutrition of secondary school age children permanently residing in the radioac-tively contaminated territories as a result of the accident at the Chоrnobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP) and in the territories of the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka of the Region of Kyiv and in the сity of Kyiv. Materials and methods. Food rations and nutritional status of secondary school age children permanently residing on the radioactively contaminated territories of the urban-type settlement Ivankiv, District of Ivankiv, Region of Kyiv as a result of the accident at the ChNPP (density of soil contamination with isotopes 137Cs – 185 to 555 kBq/m2, the average passport internal exposure dose of the population constituted (0.24 ± 0.04) mSv/year-1), and of the Village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka (P. Borshchahivka) of Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District of Kyiv Region, as well as of the pupils of the secondary school No. 209 of the сity of Kyiv were the object of the studies. We used hygienic, analytical, mathematical and statistical, software and techno-logical research methods. Results and discussion. The study of actual nutrition of the children’s population residing on the radioactively contaminated territories is the evidence of the violation of nutritional status, increase of alimentary and alimentary-dependent diseases, especially among prepubertal children, which is caused by the deficiency of the range of essential food ingredients and imbalanced rations. Dynamic field observations, conducted in 2013-2015, demonstrated that 10-years-old boys were taking the excessive amount of a number of nutrients, including animal fats, which, in our opinion, may promote a development of the signs of early puberty. Thus, cholesterol content in the rations of the examined children during the whole study period was close to the recommended values. At the same time, we had found the excessive amount of cholesterol in the nutrition rations of 10-years-old boys and its lack in the nutrition rations of 11-years-old boys from the village of P. Borshchahivka and the сity of Kyiv (by 36% and 32%); in the nutrition ration of girls during the winter and spring period of 2015 (village of P.Borshchahivka) – by 31%.Downloads
