Call for Papers

The Editorial Office of the international scientific journal Environment & Health invites researchers from Ukraine and around the world to submit original research articles, review articles, and analytical papers addressing current issues related to the effects of environmental factors on human health, public and occupational health, hygiene, epidemiology, and preventive medicine.

Environment & Health is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal that has been published since 1996, with four issues released annually.

The journal aims to disseminate scientific findings that advance our understanding of the relationships between the environment and human health, support health risk assessment, provide scientific evidence for preventive interventions, and contribute to the development of evidence-based public health.

Aims and Scope

The journal welcomes submissions in the following principal research areas:

  1. Environmental Health – investigating the effects of chemical, physical, and biological environmental factors on human health.
  2. Public Health and Preventive Medicine – examining determinants of health, disease prevention, and the effectiveness of preventive interventions.
  3. Occupational Health and Hygiene – assessing occupational risks, hazardous workplace exposures, and strategies for preventing occupational diseases.
  4. Epidemiology and Population Health Studies – conducting hygienic assessments of living conditions, providing scientific evidence for health-based standards, and developing measures to protect human health.
  5. Epidemiology and Population-Based Studies – investigating the effects of environmental, occupational, and social factors on population health.
  6. Exposure and Health Risk Assessment – assessing exposure to environmental factors, modelling exposure patterns, analysing health risks, and investigating exposure–response relationships.
  7. Climate Change, Emergencies, and Health – investigating the public health impacts of climate change, technological disasters, armed conflicts, and associated environmental threats.

Interdisciplinary research integrating environmental, biomedical, epidemiological, and social science approaches to address contemporary public health challenges is particularly encouraged.

International Research Collaboration

The journal is committed to fostering international scientific collaboration and welcomes submissions from researchers affiliated with universities, research institutions, and scientific centres worldwide.

The Editorial Office particularly encourages manuscripts arising from international research projects, collaborative studies involving Ukrainian and international researchers, cross-country comparative studies, and scientific reviews addressing contemporary challenges at the interface of the environment and human health.

Submissions are welcome from individual researchers affiliated with institutions outside Ukraine, as well as from international research teams.

Scientific quality and alignment with the journal's aims and scope are the primary criteria for editorial selection, regardless of the authors' country or institutional affiliation.

Languages of Publication

The journal accepts manuscripts written in Ukrainian or English.

To ensure the international accessibility and discoverability of research findings, each article must include an English-language title, abstract, keywords, and bibliographic metadata in accordance with the journal's requirements.

Peer Review and Open Access

All scholarly manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening and independent double-blind peer review.

The journal adheres to the principles of research integrity, transparency in editorial procedures, and publication ethics.

Published articles are freely accessible under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's website following author registration.
