Editoral staff
The Editorial Staff of Environment & Health provides organizational, scientific editorial, and publishing support throughout the preparation of manuscripts for publication, ensuring compliance with established editorial procedures and internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.
The activities of the Editorial Staff are aimed at maintaining the scientific quality of publications, ensuring transparency in editorial processes, upholding the principles of research integrity, and facilitating the timely publication of the journal's content.
The Editorial Staff manages day-to-day editorial operations in cooperation with the Editorial Board, which provides scientific and editorial oversight, and the Editorial Council, which serves in an advisory capacity.
Main Responsibilities of the Editorial Staff
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief provides overall scientific and editorial leadership, oversees the implementation of the journal's editorial policies, ensures adherence to scientific and ethical standards, safeguards the independence of the peer review process, and makes final editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
Managing Editor
The Managing Editor coordinates day-to-day editorial operations, including manuscript receipt and tracking, communication with authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members, monitoring the main stages of manuscript processing, and coordinating editorial and production activities.
Scientific Editors
The Scientific Editors conduct initial scientific and editorial assessments of submitted manuscripts, evaluating their alignment with the journal's aims and scope, compliance with structural requirements, methodological rigor, scientific reasoning, and the accuracy and formatting of bibliographic references.
They contribute to preparing manuscripts for independent peer review, addressing reviewers' comments, and monitoring compliance with editorial requirements. Scientific editing does not replace independent external peer review.
Language Editor
The Language Editor is responsible for linguistic and stylistic editing of scientific manuscripts, including the review of spelling, punctuation, grammar, terminological consistency, and adherence to academic writing conventions.
Language editing is performed without altering the scientific content, research findings, or conclusions of the authors.
Principles of Editorial Practice
The Editorial Staff adheres to the principles of scientific objectivity, editorial independence, confidentiality, research integrity, and the prevention and management of conflicts of interest.
Publication decisions are based on the scientific quality of manuscripts, their alignment with the journal's aims and scope, and the outcomes of independent peer review, free from administrative, financial, or other forms of improper influence.
Editorial staff members are required to maintain the confidentiality of unpublished materials and disclose any circumstances that may give rise to a conflict of interest. Staff members who are authors or co-authors of a submitted manuscript must not participate in its editorial evaluation or in decisions concerning its publication.
All editorial activities are conducted in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy, Peer Review Process, and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
