Editorial Council

The Editorial Council of Environment & Health serves as an advisory body that supports the journal's strategic development, refinement of its scientific scope, enhancement of publication quality, and expansion of international scientific collaboration.

The Editorial Council comprises distinguished Ukrainian and international scholars affiliated with research institutions, universities, and other research organizations, with expertise in public health, hygiene, epidemiology, preventive medicine, environmental and occupational health, biomedical sciences, and related disciplines.

The activities of the Editorial Council are aimed at advancing the journal in accordance with its aims and scope, strengthening its international scientific reputation, and promoting the adoption of internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.

Main Responsibilities of the Editorial Council

  • Providing scientific and expert advice on the journal's strategic development priorities.
  • Contributing to the refinement of the journal's scientific scope in response to emerging trends and developments in environmental and population health research.
  • Advising on the enhancement of scientific quality, compliance with international research standards, and adherence to best practices in scholarly publishing.
  • Promoting international scientific collaboration, encouraging submissions from international researchers, and broadening the geographical diversity of contributing authors.
  • Supporting scientific initiatives, international research projects, and emerging research areas relevant to the journal.
  • Contributing to the journal's international visibility, scientific reputation, and the citation impact of its publications.

Responsibilities and Principles of Operation

The Editorial Council performs advisory and consultative functions and collaborates with the Editorial Board on matters concerning the journal's scientific policy and strategic development.

The Editorial Council does not interfere with independent editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of individual manuscripts. Responsibility for organizing peer review, overseeing the scientific evaluation of manuscripts, and making final editorial decisions rests with the Editor-in-Chief and other authorized editors, in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

Members of the Editorial Council are expected to uphold the principles of research integrity, impartiality, confidentiality, and the prevention and management of conflicts of interest.

Where a member of the Editorial Council is invited to undertake an expert assessment or peer review of an individual manuscript, the journal's standard requirements concerning reviewer independence and disclosure of conflicts of interest apply.

Manuscripts authored or co-authored by members of the Editorial Council undergo the standard procedures of editorial assessment and independent scientific peer review. The members concerned do not participate in the evaluation of, or editorial decision-making concerning, their own manuscripts.

The Editorial Council operates in accordance with the principles outlined in the journal's Publication Ethics Policy and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
